  1. Eliot said that April is the cruelist month.. We’re in a crazy vortex that won’t end any time soon and it is shocking to see it brought home in such compelling and graphic images. Best hopes for a period of sane refuge of healing for your lovely city and its shocked and wounded citizens.

    • Georgia–Hi–long time no talk. Thank you for reading. We’ll be fine, my concern is how many rights get fucked over from her on out. Not a few were ignored this past week. Hope you’re doing your thing and are well!

  2. I am well out here in Arizona where the violating of rights appears to be an intramural sport. Yesterday I was at a small gathering memorial for a friend of a friend who was killed by a motorist who could not see a motorcycle. Basically the group was a group of leftys who had all read Chomsky. One guy admitted to being a political conservative and, being a bit cornered, kinda lashed out with “there were WMD in Iraq, absolutely there were even if you all chose to not believe so and so of course we had to invade Iraq”. It was so shocking to hear such an outburst around an issue you would have thought had been decided on the evidence. But…belief being what it is, rights are a fragile shield when the populace is aroused.

    • Georgia–glad to hear that you’re doing well. I used to go to spring training games in Arizona but then the state started with those insane immigration laws so I haven’t returned. And you are absolutely correct when you say ” But…belief being what it is, rights are a fragile shield when the populace is aroused..” Very fragile.

  3. Zach….I look forward to reading what you post on Monday. And good for you for boycotting our crazy immigration situation here. Our town, Bisbee, is about six miles from the border/fence at Naco, Sonora, so we live in a highly militarized situation. This Friday a group of us from our community radio station will be going across the line to work with a small radio station that is operating on fumes in Naco. We are helping them to get a new transmitter and increase their ability to do community support work there. So…activism continues despite all the insanity.
